CARBON COUNTY JUSTICE COURT JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Position Title: Deputy Clerk of Justice Court Position Schedule: Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays (24 Hours per Week). Work days may vary occasionally. Job Description: The duties of the Deputy Clerk of Justice Court are to maintain the records of the Court and to assist the judge in the courtroom, as well as to deal with the public regarding court business. The Deputy Clerk of Justice Court is directly supervised by the Justice of the Peace. Specifically, the essential functions include but are not limited to: Maintaining court records using computer programs and on paper (25%); preparing and distributing court orders (15%); monitoring payment of fines, fees and restitution to the court and to victims (15%); scheduling court business (15%); contacting, answering questions and collecting fine payments from the public (10%); maintaining financial records for the court and making bank deposits (10%); collecting fines using CitePay and MHP SmartCop (5%); and attending in-service training to stay current on court administrative procedures and laws (5%). Qualifications: Proficiency with computers is required. Knowledge of basic court procedures as well as basic criminal and civil proceedings would be preferred but is not essential. Ability to work with the public, defense and prosecuting attorneys, and law enforcement agencies is required. Knowledge of basic book keeping would be preferred but not essential.
