The ability to achieve

To the Editor,

I write this letter for the purpose of strongly endorsing Ed Williams in his bid to be elected Mayor of Red Lodge. I have known Ed for more than thirty years and have learned to greatly admire him for his unusual diligence, unique problem-solving skills and unwavering ethics. He has the ability to achieve consensus and unite diverse groups to work for common causes. I first came to know Ed when he became President of a bank on which I served as a member of the Board of Directors. The bank was highly successful due in large part to Ed's dedicated hard work and his ability to analyze challenges and find logical solutions to meet those challenges. Through Ed's efforts the bank was able to provide a great benefit to the community by enabling many small businesses to grow and prosper.

Ed and I later worked together when he was a senior executive and I was a director of a publicly-traded, high-tech company that did classified work for the Department of Defense and for intelligence agencies. This was a complex business with many and varied management challenges. Once again, the business succeeded in large part due to Ed's unique ability to analyze and solve problems. Through his leadership, the company made significant contributions to the security of the United States. During the time that I have known Ed, he has always demonstrated a strong sense of civic responsibility and dedicated a substantial amount of time to serving his community.

Since moving to Red Lodge several years ago, he has continuously and effectively given his time and talents to many charitable and civic activities. I am confident that Ed will bring to the Mayor's office the same dedication and problem-solving skills that he has demonstrated throughout his life as a businessman and as a community servant. I believe that he will do a great job as Mayor of Red Lodge.
