Beartooth Gallery holds fundraiser for handicapped chair lift for city pool

The Beartooth Gallery in Red Lodge is holding a silent auction and a raffle to raise $6,200 for a handicapped chair lift for the Red Lodge city pool.

The silent auction items are, "Above Parkside” by Jerry Inman, retailing at $495 and "Clutch", a sage and metal sculpture by Brenna Tyler, retailing at $3,495. Both artists are donating 100 percent to the auction.

There is also a raffle for $2,000 worth of additional art. The event will be all day until 10 p.m. on both Friday, June 20, and Saturday, June 21. The raffle tickets will be drawn at 8 p.m. on Saturday. People do not have to be present to win.

True Value is selling raffle tickets for the items and Beartooth Gallery owner Robert Streitmatter, asked if there were any volunteers would could also help with the raffle tickets. The tickets are $5 each, 3 for $10.

The gallery is also looking for donations from businesses to oversee the cost of the chairlift.

Mayor Ed Williams is pleased about the fundraising effort.

“For a worthwhile project like this I have no problem with as much community support as possible,” he said.
