The Beartooth Rally

To the Editor,

The Rally is the Rally. It has been here for 19 years. Hard to beat it. CCLegends has a good weekend from the Rally. It was not my best but is in the top 5 for sure. There are 17 weekends of summer for my store and I like everyone. Having different people different activities for each. If some people want to drop The Beartooth Rally that is okay by me IF. It is a big IF. What activity will replace the Rally for the 3rd weekend in July. Mind you it is in the top 5 every year. Some of the letters to the editor one might conclude that a bridge tournament, horseshoes or maybe a badminton tourney in the park would solve the replacement question. I don't think so. But I could be wrong. Ending the Rally won't get traction unless a big draw is proposed to replace the rally. Big like a nude weekend with street dances, or a Beer Fest in downtown Red Lodge inviting all the micro brews in Montana and Wyoming, or Hire Robby Knievel to come to town to jump 27 school buses on Broadway, or the best is to start a oil field weekend get away by inviting all the hard working oil workers to come to town for fun and games with the idea of getting out of North Dakota and Wyoming just for the third weekend in July every year.

I'm sure with a little planning we could put together a bigger and better weekend than The Beartooth Rally ever considered putting on. If any motorcycles show up in the summer Red Lodge will just shoo them on up the pass. Take your 10 million shot in the arm to Red Lodge somewhere else. We don't need your stinkin' money, attitudes, or straight pipes here in this town. I could be wrong about this mess but I don't think so.
