BREAKING NEWS: Commissioner Doug Tucker charged with felony

On April 24, an Information containing a criminal charge of felony theft was filed in Carbon County District Court by Special Deputy Carbon County Attorney Christopher A. Morris against Carbon County Commissioner Doug Tucker. There is one charge of felony theft against him in that he “purposely or knowingly obtained or exerted unauthorized control over property of the owner…” That property the information alleges, belongs to Carbon County, and it is further alleged he took the items “knowing that he would probably deprive the owner of the property, which exceeds $1,500 in value.” The facts stated pertain to county skid loader attachments allegedly used for personal use and that of others including his fiance’s family. If convicted, the crime is punishable by up to 10 years in state prison or a fine not exceeding $50,000, or both. See full story in Thursday, May 18, issue.
