Cell phone possible reason behind crash north of Red Lodge

A one-vehicle crash occurred north of Red Lodge, July 14, near the KOA Campground. According to the Carbon County Sheriff’s Department the driver was apparently distracted when she reached for her cell phone and her vehicle, a minivan, went off Highway 212 into a ditch and then along a clearing of trees before hitting a tree dead center. Both airbags were deployed. There was also a passenger in the minivan. The driver was taken to the Beartooth Billings Clinic. The condition of driver and passenger is not known.
