Class Reunion celebrates 70th year

Classmates from Carbon County High School teamed up again for their 70th reunion on Monday at the Red Lodge Community Center. They all graduated in the Class of 1944 that had 40 students. Pictured from the left: Clara Timonen Jarvi, Goldie Hotchkiss Rae, Elsie Sippola Hudson, Stanley Risvold, Dorothy Uzelac and Leola Luoma Rattin.

Carbon County High School was built in 1913 and cost $27,000 (that’s $650,026.36 today using an inflation calculator). In 1952 the school became the Red Lodge High School until a new building replaced it in 1961.
