Dog shot on County land

A dog shot in Joliet for attacking chickens was shot on Carbon County land not City. The incident happened May 25 when the owner’s of the dog let the animal out and it ran to their neighbor’s yard and started attacking the neighbors chickens. The owner of the chickens tried to fend the dog off using a stick according to the Carbon County Sheriff ’s department and then took evasive action and shot the dog. At first Joliet City Police were involved as the neighbor’s house is on city land but handed the case over to the Sheriff ’s department after it was confirmed the chickens he was raising are on county land next to the house.
