Don’t be a litter bug

To the Editor,

I just came back from my almost daily walk up and down Lower Luther Road, where we live. I always take a trash bag with me. Today I collected 7 lb. of trash (glass and plastic bottles, cans, etc. even a dirty diaper!) from the sides of the road. This is about the quantity I collect twice a week over 1.5 mile. It is shocking to think that people who - I suppose - drive through our neighborhood to enjoy the outdoors and our beautiful national forest don't try a little harder to keep it beautiful. Please do not throw your trash out the window. Dispose of it properly. You will be surprised how easy it is to get into that habit. Thank you!
