Frank Lee Foltz
Frank Lee Foltz was born Dec. 22, 1934 in Sheridan, Wyo. to Charles M. and Lena (Stoddard) Foltz, the youngest of 11 children. He grew up and attended school in Wyola, and graduated from Lodge Grass High School in 1953. He served with the Army infantry during the Korean War as an M1 gunnery leader. After returning home he went to work for the Montana Highway Department in Billings, transferring to Roberts, Red Lodge, Bridger and back to Billings. Frank worked every spring opening the Beartooth Highway.
He retired in 1988 after 32 years. He then drove school bus for Ryder Student Transportation (Later called First Student) in Billings until suffering a massive stroke in 2000. He was most happy hosting a big BBQ or family reunion, working in his garden, or making diamond willow canes and walking sticks for family members.. Frank married the love of his life, Virginia “Ginny” Brockway on April 12, 1957. They have five children: Tami (Bud) Keehn, Billings; Shari (Alan) Newman, Lake Oswego, Ore.; Patti (Tom) Schuneman, Glenwood Springs, Colo.; Tracy (Doug) Orton, Lake Osweg o , O r e . ; a n d D a r y l (Michelle) Foltz, Bulverde, Texas. Survivors include one sister: Bobbie (Jim) Fellows, Big Timber, sister-inlaw, Noma Foltz, Seattle; grandchildren, Rachel (James) McGuire; Matt (Alyssa), Josh (Jenn) and Nathan (Katrina) Keehn; Bryce Laber, Rachel and Paige Pinson; Trude, Robert, Nichole, Jesse and Rebekah Orton; Josh and Madison Foltz and Alyssa Holland and seven great grandchildren.
P r e c e d i n g h i m i n death are his parents, sisters Muriel (Fred) Fowler, B i l l i e J e a n ( H a r o l d ) Grafel, Mary Lou (Paul) Bognar, Marjorie Foltz, Rachel (Lyle) Faught, and Ruth (Neil) Solveson, brothers Carl (Mable) Foltz, Lynn (Wilma) Foltz, and Don Foltz and granddaughter Sarah Pinson.
