Fromberg Days coming again
Déjà Vous or Déjà vu? Which way is correct? Déjà vous is something few people know the true meaning of. Fromberg has its yearly Fromberg Celebration on Saturday 24 August. The theme is Déjà Vous. According to the research it has been seen in both ways and some say they are different but don’t provide an explanation of what those differences are. If you have studied French, which I have, you are aware that there is both formal and informal way of speaking. Vous (pronounced vu) is the pleural or formal way to say you. Tu is the singular or informal way to also say you. These distinctions of when to use vous or tu are very important. You must understand when and why to use each of them; otherwise, you may inadvertently insult someone by using the wrong “you” word. The French language does not have the word “Vu”. It is thought that somehow Tu was turned into Vu by the non-French speaking people. Currently even the slang French books have the common and easier to spell phase “Déjà’s Vu”. Literally the term “Déjà’s Vous” means “already you”? Already you, is not really a correct expression in French or English. Déjà’s Vous is defined via a Google search as the experience of that one has been oneself before, perhaps in a past life, or in the same life but earlier than the present setting. Many people think it means the same thing happening twice. Even though déjà vu is French for "already seen", it actually is used to describe the strange feeling you get when you're in a situation, and feel like you've been in the exact same situation before, but really haven't. Some think Déjà’s vous means “again you” that would be “Encore Vous” in French. According to urbandictionary.com the question should be "What is the difference between “'déjà vous' and 'déjà tu / vou'?" They define Déjà vu literally as already seen. Please come join us in our yearly celebration starting with 8am -10am breakfast to benefit the Fromberg Fire department followed by 1100 parade.
