Fromberg Pig Roast raises $1,700 for Fire Department

The 1st Annual Fireman’s Pig Roast and Fromberg Fest, Aug. 30, helped to raise $1,700 for the department. The money will be used for equipment. People came from Red Lodge and Billings as well as surrounding towns to help with the cause despite the rain. The event was held at the Tomahawk Café, north of town. Fromberg Fire Chief Mike Ventling said it was a “good turnout” and that the department will continue to hold an annual pig roast. The 300lb pig came from a Hutterite Colony in Harlowton and was cooked by Dave Lawson and Dave Phillips for over 18 hours on their huge Hogs Gone Wild cooker.
