Gerald Rex “Jerry” Zachary, age 76, went to be with the Lord in heaven on April 28, 2014, from his home in Olympia, Wash. Gerald is survived by his wife, Janet Lee “Jan” Zachary; daughter, Rachelle Ann (Derek) Beaulieu, and granddaughters, Katelyn Jan and Kirsten Ella, all of Tumwater, Wash.; sister, Arlene Frances (Gilbert) Fletcher of Tigard, Ore.; and nieces, Sherri Tye and Susan Fletcher of Seattle. Gerald was born in Billings, to Rex B. and Frances S. Zachary on Sept. 8, 1937. He attended Helena High School until 1954, and then graduated in 1955 from Red Lodge High School. In 1956, he graduated from Class A Naval Radar School while in the Navy. He married the love of his life, Jan, on June 14, 1963, when attending the University of Montana in Missoula, where he graduated with honors in 1965 with a BS in Business Administration. Upon graduation, they moved to Washington where Gerald worked for a bank and later as a bank examiner and ultimately as Director of Banks for the State of Washington. In 1981, he graduated from Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington. After retirement in 1998, Gerald provided a bank consulting service for starting up new state banks until fully retiring in 2010. Gerald had a wonderful career and success.
