Greatly Enriched

To the Editor, My life has been greatly enriched knowing Bob Moran. When I first joined the Red Lodge Music Festival in the early 1970s Bob was one of the first to welcome me with his warm and gracious manner and huge smile. I'd not be in Montana in early June previously and arrived wearing a short sleeve shirt. It was 38 degrees! Bob immediately loaned me one of his jackets and when I tried to return it before leaving 10 days later he insisted I keep it. I wore that jacket the next ten summers here in Red Lodge! What a kind, generous man Bob was. He coordinated housing for the music faculty for more than two decades, would run errands daily, and even "played" bartender for the faculty receptions upon our arrival and at our last evening gatherings too! I'm hard pressed to think of anyone I've known who steadfastly gave so much of himself to the community. The idea of naming the library after him I feel a terrific one and hope it comes to pass. For the forty summers I came to Red Lodge I never heard him say anything negative about anyone or anything. He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
