Irene  Fisher

Our beloved mom, Irene Fisher, died April 10, 2015, at age 87. Born in Heil, North Dakota, to Emil and Christina Wuest on Oct. 15, 1927, she married Stan Fisher on Nov. 10, 1945, after graduation from Huntley Project High School.

Irene was predeceased by her husband; her son, John; two grandsons and her six siblings. Surviving her are four children:  Sharon (Gus) Gerhardt, Bob (Kea), Don (Susan) and Carol (Tim Mack) Brumfield, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  Irene was feisty, forthright and spirited, loved to tell jokes (some off-color!), had a great sense of humor and was a wonderful cook. You never left her house empty-handed, and her family meant everything to her. Her great-grandchildren called her “Grandma Great,” which she was.

Besides being mother, Irene was a helpmate to Stan on their ranches at Worden, Silesia and Fox and co-owner of Fisher Water Service, she was also active in DOES, enjoyed painting ceramics, sewing, square dancing, bowling, playing cards, socializing and being a campground host. A special thank you to her home health aide, Carol.

Memorials may be made to Cole’s Western Wishes, 3131 Solar Blvd., # 12, Billings, MT 59102. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, at Bethlehem Congregational Church on Main Street in Worden, with interment in Pleasantview  Cemetery. Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary has charge of arrangements. Condolences may be shared with the family by visiting
