Larson sworn in as Mayor of Red Lodge

Red Lodge City Hall was filled with well-wishers Monday morning Jan. 1 as William G. Larson was sworn in as the next Mayor of Red Lodge. Lonnie Hanson, City Clerk, officiated.
Since his election, Larson has been meeting with City department heads and staff furthering his understanding of the tasks ahead. On Dec. 19 Larson, new and returning council members held an open meeting where he assigned the “standing committees” of council, discussed how the council meetings will be conducted, and created an efficient process for council business. Ready to get to work, Larson was pleased to be sworn in well ahead of the January 9th council meeting.
Speaking after the ceremony, Larson said “I’ve been asked if I am nervous”, to which he replied, “I feel very comfortable, and after meeting with department heads, staff, council and employees of the City, knowing that we all have a positive, forward looking, prospective on where the City of Red Lodge is headed.”
To better serve the community, department heads, and staff, Larson will have regular office hours of 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, or by appointment. The number at City Hall is 446-1606.
