Marlene C. Goad

Marlene Catherine Goad, 59, lived in Round Rock, Texas and passed away on June 2, 2013 from a heart attack at Scott and White Emergency, Round Rock.

Marlene was born in Billings, on Dec. 5, 1953 to Anna and Harry J. Peters. She graduated Belfry High School with the class of (1972), from Austin Community College in 1982 with an Associate of S c i e n c e i n B u s i n e s s Administration, from St. Edward’s University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Marlene was married to Chester Wayne Goad in Stuttgart, Germany on March 14, 1975 and in the states on November 15, 1975 in Bridger.

She worked as a Communications Center Specialist 5 in the United States Army from May 25, 1972 to October 20, 1975. During that time, she received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Sharpshooter. Marlene devoted her career to the State of Texas at the Texas Youth Commission and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. She loved watching and feeding her birds, was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and camping, loved exploring the varieties of international cooking, and was an enthusiastic gardener of vegetables, wildflowers and African violets.

She was survived by husband, Chester Wayne Goad; daughter, Laura Dee Goadrich and husband Mark; siblings, Dorothy (Dorth) Rangitsch, Violet Zentner, Gladys (Skip) Premo and husband Don, Donald (Don) Peters and wife Marian, James Peters and wife Linda, John Peters and wife Marlene, Nancy Ellis and husband John and daughter Tony Espinosa and son Richard Feller, Janett Maddox and husband Gregg, Artie (Richard) Peters, and Theresa (Terry) Peters; and numerous of nieces and nephews.

A memorial services was held Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. at CookWalden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas.
