Not in our state

To the Editor,

Before running for Governor (and losing), billionaire Greg Gianforte built his trophy home along the Gallatin River and tried to kill the public access easement to it. Knowing that Montana citizens would be outraged, he tried to shield himself from the consequences of suing the state by hiding behind a corporation in his wife's name.

When news broke, he claimed, "we never sued to block access." That is an alternative fact, also known as a lie.

What would Montana be without its public access? A private preserve for the rich? Is that Gianforte's vision for our beautiful state?

Now he is trying again. This time, he wants to buy a seat in Congress.

Not in our state, Mr. Gianforte. Not in our state.
