Nov. 4 election will see Howard and Elliott vie for District 29

The official results for the Montana Primaries held June 3 this year will see Democratic candidate Susan ‘Eli’ Elliott battling with Republican David Howard for State Senate District 29 seat. Elliott won an uncontested race with 937 votes.

The Republican race saw Howard beat Joanne Blyton by 1,823 to 1,696. Howard won a closely fought contest with 51.7 percent of the vote.

Blyton had held the State Rep District 59 seat for three years before she stepped down earlier this year to run for Sen. Jason Priest’s HD 29.

Blyton’s HD59 seat became HD 58 covering Carbon County. In the race for State Rep District 58 Democrat Mitzi Vorachek, who was uncontested, gained 626 votes.

Republican Seth Berglee beat Julie Bauwens-Jones by 881 -773 votes and getting 55.2 percent of the vote.

The General Elections will be held Nov. 4, 2014.
