Raymond Dancy Kotar

Raymond Dancy Kotar, Bearcreek, passed away on Wednesday afternoon after a hard fought battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends; from his “John Wayne-like” persona, his endearing comical verbalizations, his selfless nature and his countless good deeds throughout the Bearcreek and Red Lodge communities. Near the end we saw just how much he loved his wife, and that his daughter was indeed Daddy’s little girl. He loved all his family, hunting and fishing, sharing stories, and his social coffee hours with his friends about town. Ever caring, willing to help, he was an all-round good man. You could say, “well done”, and be sure the Lord would agree. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Mary Kotar; and his son, Ted Andrew Kotar. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann (Reichert) Kotar; his daughter, Victoria Rae Kotar Lang; his son-in-law, Keith Lang; and granddaughters, Whitney and Katie Lang. Our loss is heaven’s gain, until we meet again. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in Raymond’s name. A private memorial service and reception will be planned for a later time. Smith-Olcott Funeral Chapel of Red Lodge has assisted with the arrangements. In addendum: A note from his daughter: I was so blessed to have these last few months to walk this final journey with him. I found a photo when he held me as a baby in the palm of his hand and in the last hours I was able to hold my dad and tell him how much I loved him. It came full circle. He is now in heaven with Jesus. I love you daddy and miss you. Your loving daughter, Victoria
