Robert John Bleeker

Robert (Bob) John Bleeker, 50, of Joliet passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014.   He was born on March 2, 1964 the son of Dr. John and Dorothy Bleeker in Chicago, Ill.  Bob and his family moved to Montana when he was 9 years old and he knew at that age he wanted to be a rancher. Bob grew up in Joliet and graduated from Joliet High School in 1982.  He was the sales manager for Office Furniture Wholesale in Billings for 29 years.   Bob was the definition of a true cowboy and his passion was ranching Hereford cattle. 

He was a lifetime member of the American Hereford Association and the Montana Hereford Association. As a young man he enjoyed team roping and was an accomplished heeler. Bob was tireless, dedicated worker and rarely had free time.  When he did, he enjoyed nature to its fullest by fishing and elk hunting.  Bob loved being from Montana and it would always be his home. Bob had many friends and was loved and respected by all. Bob had a deep and undying love and appreciation for the founding fathers of our country and the freedom America provides.  He was a patriot who thought the constitution should be upheld, respected and protected as a sacred document that ensured our life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.   He is preceded in death by his father, Dr. John A. Bleeker. 

He leaves behind his wife, Tamara Schweigert-Bleeker; his mother, Dorothy Zeman-Bleeker Ball and step-father William Ball; a sister, Dawn (John) Bleeker-Swanson and nieces Taylor, Hannah and Audrey; a sister, Sarah (Jason) Bleeker-Western and nephews Alexander, Nathan and Joshua; a  brother, Joseph (Emily) Bleeker and nephews John, Brandon, Thomas and niece Madeline. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Smith-Olcott Funeral Chapel in Red Lodge Visitation with the family present was 6 p.m.– 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 2 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service on Thursday at “Hereford Heaven”.
