Rose Jurkovich

 

Rose Jurkovich, 90, passed away early Thursday morning, Feb. 21, 2013 at her home in Red Lodge.
Rose was born on Feb. 24, 1922 in Washoe, a daughter of Vaso and Stana Jurkovich. She moved to Red Lodge with her parents and siblings within a year. She lived in the family home for the remainder of her 90 years.
Rose graduated from Carbon County High School in Red Lodge in 1940. After graduation, she began working for Bell Telephone Company where she retired as chief operator after approximately forty years of employment. Rose was a longtime member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. 
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Nedjelko (Dominic), Robert, Lazar and George; and sisters Olga and Yvonne.
Survivors include one sister, Dorthy Christopherson; three brothers, Ray, Eli and Nick; and many nieces and nephews. 
Cremation has taken place. In accordance with Rose’s wishes, no service will be held. Interment will be at a later date in the Red Lodge Cemetery. Smith-Olcott Funeral Chapel assisted with the arrangements.
Memorials may be given to the charity of one’s choice.
