Thank you and farewell Red Lodge

Dear CCN readers and friends, First, I would like to thank the community for their constant support and welcoming spirit. The connections, great friends and memories I’ve made in this town are so special, simply words cannot describe.

But, I am sad to say that I will be leaving Red Lodge to pursue different adventures.

However, leaving this special place is bittersweet and anticipating my future is a bit scary. But, I know wherever I go, Red Lodge will always have a place in my heart, as cliché as it sounds.

When I moved here in June 2012 from California, I had few expectations. I had no idea what I would be doing and where this place would lead me. But, I was quickly accepted into the friendly community and from there unexpected opportunities led me to the job with the CCN, where I realized a passion for writing and reporting. Prior to Red Lodge, I was on a career path that looked like Los Angeles freeways-- anything but a clear, distant road.

I have learned so much from the people and characters here and I know in a few years I will look back and smile at all the memories, probably while sitting in L.A. traffic wishing I was cruising 70 mph on Highway 212.

So instead of saying “goodbye,” I will say “see you later,” because everything about this place is worth coming back to… in the summertime that is. Thank you again, Lizzie Blumenthal
