Why Ed’s the better choice

To the Editor, Though “Walking” Tom Weaver is an appealing Red Lodge personality and tempting write-in candidate for mayor, the better choice for the job is Ed Williams. I say this having successively served, over 10 years, as Red Lodge planning board president, city planner, and City Council member. Those jobs taught me that Mayor Roat was right in his letter to the News last month: City government experience is a critical qualification for serving as mayor. Ed’s got that in spades. His city experience includes not only council, but serving on no fewer than four city commissions and committees, plus leadership positions with several nonprofits that interact with the city. We’re lucky that Ed Williams would take on the often thankless job of mayor. Help ensure he’s elected by giving him your vote. Dave Stauffer Red Lodge
