The Bridger volleyball team took no time in dispensing with the opposition at the Southern C Divisional Volleyball Tournament last week at Laurel High School. They swept aside Roy-Winifred 25-18, 25-14, 25-23 in the final to claim their 9th Divisional title. They now head to the State finals in Bozeman to face Gardiner. It is the Lady Scouts first time back at State since 2013 and they are looking for their first State title since 2004. The school won 10 State volleyball titles between 1991 and 2004.

At the Divisionals the Scouts suffered a rare defeat to Hobson-Moore-Judith Gap 21-25, 25-21, 25-15, 25-19. Desiree Scott and Jessica Adkins led in kills with 9 apiece with Sylvia Scianna leading with 21 assists. In their 2nd game the Scouts faced Custer/Hysham and defeated them in 3; 27-25, 25-17, 25-15.

Jessica Adkins served 4 aces, Emily Adkins served 3 with Katie Aisenbrey leading in kills. Scianna again led in assists with 22. The semi-final game saw the Lady Scouts’ encounter with Roy Winifred who they whipped 25-9, 25-18, 25-21. J. Adkins led in kills with 12 with assists coming from Scianna and E. Adkins. The two teams played each other again in the championship game with the same result, 3-0 to the Lady Scouts. E. Adkins served up 2 aces, J. Adkins got in 16 kills and 6 blocks and Scianna with 17 assists.
