Local man killed in crash

A Red Lodge man died Monday afternoon after the pickup he was driving collided with another vehicle on Highway 212.
Kent Harris, 73, was driving a Ford F-150 pickup in the south-bound lane, and was one of several vehicles following a snow plow. He tried to pass the car in front of him stated Montana Highway Trooper Wade Palen and hit an oncoming Jeep Rubicon and then a Ford Ranger traveling behind the Jeep.
Harris was pronounced dead at the scene and was not wearing a seat belt confirmed Palen.
According to the report, the Billings driver of the Jeep refused treatment. The occupants of the other Ford Ranger, two 16-year old females, were transported to Billings Beartooth Clinic with non-threatening injuries. The driver of a third vehicle involved in the incident was also not injured.
The incident happened between Boyd and Joliet shortly before 5 p.m.
Both lanes of Highway 212 reopened around 10 p.m.
