City passes soccer field plans

The City of Red Lodge and the Red Lodge Youth Soccer (RLYS) finally came to an understanding over the proposed soccer field, north of the high school at Coal Miners Park.
A stumbling block came when RLYS was concerned with how a 30-day termination clause would affect their fundraising.
Most of the City’s MOU's have a 30-day termination clause but one didn't, as it is only an active Development & Design MOU.
When the City gets the DEQ grant for field construction there will be Operations and Maintenance MOU with RLYS with a 30-day termination clause.
RLYS President Beth Graham believes if construction were to start this fall, earthwork would likely be restarted spring of 2019 for possible operations in 2020, although it is “too early in the design to say.”
