The long awaited Broadway Rehab Water project is finally rolling as crews from the Wilson Brothers and GreatWest Engineering started digging up Broadway to pave the way for the Water Rehab Project. As a result of this work, drivers should be aware of road closures and detours.
Each crew will work within a two-block area and divert traffic onto North Platt Ave, as shown in Map 2. To ensure that local businesses experience minimal disruption, pedestrian traffic along the sidewalks will be maintained for 24-hour access. Signs, barricades, and other miscellaneous traffic control devices will direct pedestrian traffic and provide a safe environment away from construction activity.
The first crew will start the project beginning at 5th Street and proceeding south closing two blocks of Broadway and diverting traffic as shown in Map 1.
The second crew, which will begin work approximately one week after crew one, will start on 10th Street and work south through Schedule 2. Crew two will also divert traffic as shown on Map 2. Since N Platt does not continue past 17th S, drawing #2 shows the traffic diverted to S Hauser and then
back on Broadway to complete the project from 17th to 19th Street.
It is anticipated that crew one will finish Schedule 1 and a portion of Schedule2, up to 10th Street, and move to 19th Street to complete Schedule 4.
Crew two, after completing Schedule 2 (10th Street to 14th Street), will begin on 14th Street and work south to 17th Street.
This will ensure that the two crews are never within two blocks of each other and therefore never overlap traffic control.
In addition, a Truck Route will be delineated to divert truck traffic through town away from the construction area.
