The art of Roberts resident, Richard Wallace, will be featured in the North Gallery at the Carbon County Arts Guild during the month of June. Wallace grew up in western Colorado on a farm. He went to schools
there and on to Colorado State University. He received a degree in music education but continued to
draw and paint and gain experience with art. It has been the one constant in his life and he has won
many awards for his work. His art education has included classes with professional artists as well as
studying artists that he admires and he continues to learn and improve his skills. Art and painting has been his only vocation since 2001. His favorite a r t i s t s a r e R i c h a r d S c h m i d a n d N i c o l a i Fechin as well as many others. Portraits have been his main interest since he was young but he also enjoys still life and landscapes. Since he moved to the area from Wyoming, he has spent much time painting in the
beautiful mountains here. The exhibit will continue throughout June in the North Gallery and is free and open during normal Arts Guild summer hours, Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, 12 noon – 5 p.m. Meet Wallace during an early evening artist reception on Friday, June 21 from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m., at the Arts Guild in Red Lodge. Wallace will talk at 5 p.m. about his life and experiences as an artist. The artist reception is free and open to everyone and refreshments will be served.
