Mary Staudinger, 95, of Joliet, passed away June 6, 2013 at the Ponderosa Pine's Nursing home in Lockwood. She was born on Oct. 1, 1917 in Emmons County, N.D. to Frank and Mary (Zahn) Buechler. The family settled in the Edgar area in 1936. Mary married Phil Staudinger on July 23, 1940. They lived in Carbon County their entire married life. They both worked hard to make their farming venture a success. Mary remained on the family farm after Phil passed away.
Mary enjoyed gardening, playing cards with family and friends, word search puzzles, embroidery, and reading. Company was always welcome in her home and never left hungry. Mary is preceded in death by her husband Phil in 2003, sisters Theresa and Elizabeth, brothers Al, Tefil, Joe, and Karl. Survivors include sons Philip, Jr. (Judy) of Billings and Gary (Sandy) of Meridian, Idaho; daughter Jo-Ann (Wayne Lindemood) Staudinger of Vancouver, Wash.; brothers Frank Buechler of Fromberg and sisters Virginia Cox of Billings and Helen Beehler of Bismarck, N.D.; five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mary's family wish to extend a special thanks to Ponderosa Pine's Nursing Home and Staff for the e x c e l l e n t c a r e M a r y received during her stay there. Memorials are suggested to the Joliet Community Center, P.O. Box 29, Joliet, MT 59041 or the Roberts Community Foundation, P.O. Box 284, Roberts, MT 59070. Cremation has taken place.
