The Red Lodge Growth Development plan meeting was held on Wednesday, June 12, to discuss changes to the draft. The following schedule for the plan was suggested by the Planning Board and Zoning Commission: The growth development plan language would finalize on June 26. On July 10, there would be a public hearing and on July 24 the board could discuss it and could recommend any further actions. On Aug. 13, the plan would be presented to the Red Lodge City Council. On Aug. 27, the council could discuss it and take any actions.
City Planner Forrest Sanderson said, “My recommendation is that we take some time and listen to the public. These are some radical changes to Red Lodge and some radical changes to the document. You want to make sure the document for the next five years really says what you want it to say.” Sam Hoffman, owner of Red Lodge’s Sam’s Ales and Tap Room said, “I am happy you guys took things into consideration. Thank you.” Board Vice President Sandy Conlee responded, “We did listen. It’s hard to please everyone.”
