Roberts had two lightning strikes over the 4th of July week, both resulting in structure fires. The first strike happened over July 4th and the second, pictured, occurred July 7. Robert Fire Chief Hunter Bell III said the second structure, an outbuilding used to store equipment three miles south of Roberts on Clear Creek road, was struck at approximately 7 p.m. and smoldered for 2 and a half hours before being spotted. Roberts fire was called out between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. and had the fire under control within 30 minutes. On scene were two engines and four tenders with mutual aid from Red Lodge.
