WESTERN BALLADS AND CAMPFIRE SONGS We just received notice that the High Country Cowboys will perform for us Wednesday, August 14, following lunch. The Cowboys are always multiple breaths of invigorating Big Sky air and stimulating campfire coffee blending incredible harmonies, yodeling and stringed instrument playing. This local trio of brothers is self-taught and has made some of the instruments they play. Joe, who survived a life threatening injury from his horse earlier this spring, strongly plays a stand- up double bass with John and Marty playing guitar. Listen for Marty’s high country yodeling. The Cowboys’ performance is free of charge to all Red Lodge area residents. An appreciation tip jar will be available. Their CD’s are available at our Thrift Store. NORRINE CANCELS Disappointedly we have also received notice from Norrine, the Outlaw Queen, that her plans to follow the happy trail to Red Lodge August 4 have hit a snag. We were bullish in our attitude in anticipation of her performance but are now bearish because of her cancellation. Norrine’s swinging doors no longer open south towards Red Lodge, and the love knot in her lariat sadly for us has untied. We will always leave the light on for Norrine. OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS Recently more of our beloved members have required assisted living, long term care and/or homecare. We are grateful that we live at a time when services and facilities are available that provide a variety of professional care, services and facilities for our friends and families. We want our beloved members to know that you are missed and are constantly in our thoughts and prayers. OUR COMMUNITY SERVICES Our Center is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Saturday from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Exercise groups meet at 10:00 AM; we do have some equipment and Wii for your use. We certainly would appreciate a volunteer exercise leader. Chef Theresa serves lunch Monday, Wednesday and Friday. She has a $3.00 Salad and Soup Bar Monday and Friday with a full lunch on Wednesday at a usual cost of $4.00 and holiday lunches costing $5.00. Chef Theresa’s next bake sale is August 2 from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM; all proceeds go to the running of the Center. Sundays we have Coffee, Cookies and Conversation hour beginning at 1:00 PM at no charge. Our Thrift Store is open Tuesday through Saturday from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Come in and give a big howdy to Katie and Linda. Katie and Linda work hard to provide a good inventory in a clean and airy environment.
