Belfry’s Cassidy Litten gets ready to serve against Absarokee.

The Belfry Bats volleyball team faced Absarokee in their first game of the season and despite going down, 8-25, 9-25, 15-25, displayed a determination that should stand them well for the rest of the season.

Belfry scored 6 aces with Alyssa Thormahlen getting 3. Thormahlen also made 4 digs from a team total of 14. Cassidy Litten got 5 of the 10 kills with Katy Parker making 2 blocks. There were also 8 assists.

“We saw some great things from our girls during our first game of the season. We had to work through some nerves at the beginning and get used to the new rotation and new players but they really showed great improvement from last year in both ability and attitude,” said coach Kasey McClane. “We are going to keep working hard and playing hard. I am looking forward to watching them grow and am excited to see what the rest of the season brings us.”
