Beulah Rose Peterson

Beulah Rose Peterson, age 93, passed away peacefully Feb. 17, 2019 in her daughter’s home with the love of her family and friends surrounding her.

Beulah was born in Belfry, Montana to Hazel and Matt Brown on Aug. 18, 1925. She grew up in the Clarks Fork Valley. She went to the Belfry school and a short time at the Bridger school graduating in 1943. After high school Beulah went to nurses training at Carroll College and St. Vincent’s School of Nursing during WW II. 

Beulah married Leo Peterson on Nov. 9, 1946 who preceded her in death in 2016. To their union of marriage was born Linda, Dianne, Lowell, Lyle, Lee and Brenda. They raised their family in Bridger and moved to Red Lodge where they spent their semi-retirement years. 

Beulah had a living relationship with God and an open home to the ministry. She had a thirst for knowledge, loved listening and reading, especially loved reading the Bible. She loved her family and friends. She loved to cook and entertain whoever came to visit. She started the day with a wonderful breakfast where everyone enjoyed conversation around the kitchen table. 

Her specialty was her fresh baked pies. 

Beulah is survived by children Linda, Dianne, Lowell (Lou), Lyle (Karla) and Brenda (Steve); 14 grandchildren who all called her Gran (Dixie, Tracy, Michelle, Ben, Tricia, Sonya, Justin, Grant, Jess, Jerri, Clint, Landon, Lindsay, Luke); 18 great grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother Bill, 6 sisters-in-law and 4 brothers-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo, son Lee, great granddaughter Alyssa, parents (Matt and Hazel Brown), in-laws (Harry and Edith Peterson), brothers Ed, Verne and Matt and 4 sisters-in-law and 2 brothers-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Smith Funeral Chapel, 315 E. 3rd St., Laurel, Montana. Burial will follow in the Bridger Cemetery, Bridger, Montana. A luncheon will be served at the Bridger grade school following the graveside service.

Robert Reed of the Joliet Baptist  Church will be the Speaker of the day.   The schedule for the day will be: 9 a.m. Services at the Gebo Cemetery. 9:30 a.m. March through Fromberg Main St. 10 a.m.   Services at Rockvale Cemetery 11 a.m. Services at Joliet Cemetery 11:30 a.m. March through Joliet Main St. A potluck lunch will be held at the  Joliet Community Center following the services.  Everyone is welcome to come. Any veterans who would like to help who haven’t been contacted can show up at the Gebo Cemetery at 8:45 a.m. Memorial Day or call Rich Pierce at 962-3320 or Jody Stene 962-3779.
