BREAKING NEWS:Disaster Unemployment Assistance

Montana residents living or working in Park, Carbon and Stillwater counties who lost work due to June’s floods and who are not eligible for regular state unemployment insurance may be eligible for Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA).Most regular W-2 employees who lost work due to June’s flooding may be eligible for regular Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits. Individuals seeking to file a regular UI claim should visit and create or log into their account. Individuals can also call the Department’s Claims Processing Center at (406) 444-2545 for assistance.To apply for DUA, call the Montana Department of Labor & Industry at (406) 444-3454 to file a claim.§  DUA claims agents will be available Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.§  Claims will be accepted until August 4, 2022.Individuals will need their Social Security Number, a copy of their most recent federal income tax forms or check stubs, and documentation to support they were working or self-employed when the disaster occurred.The Disaster Assistance Period is effective June 12, 2022. Survivors who experienced unemployment beginning on this date are eligible to apply for DUA.
