Bridger celebrated Homecoming with an easy win over Broadview/Lavina last week, 44-19. Chance Goltz threw 4 touchdown passes to secure the win. The Scouts move to 5-0 for the season. Baylor Pospisil opened the scoring in the 1st quarter accepting a 13 yard catch from Goltz to make it 6-0. Lucius Payovich converted the 2-point kick. Broadview/Lavina hit back in the 2nd quarter but Bridger restored order with another Pospisil touchdown off a 16-yard catch from Goltz and Rod Zentner followed up with another from an impressive 46-yard throw by Goltz to go in at the half at a comfortable 24-6 lead. Things did not get any better for Broadview/Lavina as Pospisil claimed his third touch down of the night, once more from Goltz at 45 yards. Zach Althoff tidied things up in the 4th quarter with a 25 yard fumble return and a off a 3 yard run. In offence Goltz made 15 completions in 27 for 243 yards and made 4 touchdowns. In receiving Payovich caught 4 for 43 yards, Pospisil 5 for 78 yards and Althoff 4 for 61. In rushing Zentner made 6 for 30 yards and rushed 4 for 52 yards. In defense Althoff made 17 tackles, Zentner and Pospisil both made 13. “The Broadview/Lavina win was a great Homecoming for our seniors. We beat a very good football team. Our defense came out firedup and we made a statement right from the kickoff. We have something’s to clean up offensively but over all I’m very pleased with the performance of our football team,” said Coach Jim Goltz.
