Bridger claims 21st 4C District title

The Bridger Lady Scouts collected their 21st 4C District volleyball title at Absarokee High School last week after defeating Roberts in the Championship game.

The Lady Scouts machine keeps going as the team collected their 21st 4C District volleyball title at Absarokee High School last week. 

Bridger dispatched Plenty Coups in their opening game 25-6, 25-9, 25-8 with 31 kills, Emily Adkins getting 12 and Jenna Kallevig 8. Kallevig also shared in the spoils when it came to aces, getting 5. 

There were 27 assists with Sami Fusco on 15. Fusco also hit 3 aces. Bridger faced 37 digs with Kyra Kroll on 11 and Hope Buessing got in 2 blocks. 

The win took Bridger up against Reed Point/Rapelje who proved to be much sterner opponents eventually going out 25-21, 25-15, 25-10. 

The team totaled 34 kills with Adkins claiming 20 of them. She also fired home 4 aces. In assists Fusco had 20 while Kroll picked up 7 digs and Kallevig 6. For blocks Madison Dravetsky and Kyndra Reichart had two each. 

Bridger’s next opponents are the Cinderella team of the season, Roberts, who have excelled at every juncture. 

The Lady Rockets earned their way to the undefeated semi-final by dispatching Fromberg and Park City with ease. 

The opening game lived up to expectations with Bridger being pushed all the way their opponents at 26-24.  The final games saw Bridger take control with 25-14, 25-12 wins. 

Of the 9 aces Bridger’s Fusco got 4, and Kallevig 2.  Kallevig also shared the 42 digs with Kroll, both getting 10 apiece. Kallevig was also involved in the kills, getting 10 while Adkins claimed 17. Buessing got 2 blocks with Fusco getting 16 assists, and Taycee Spidahl 10.

Roberts replied with 2 aces from Bentley Bertolino and Emma DeVries, 17 assists, 20 kills, 6 blocks and 33 digs. 

Roberts had to face Reed Point/Rapejle with his loss and bounced back to win 25-15, 25-13, 25-21 to against face Bridger in the Championship game.

However, the momentum and strength faltered for Roberts as they fell 25-12, 25-11, 25-18.

Kallevig again proved too devastating for the Lady Rockets, claiming 10 kills and 11 digs. Adkins followed up with 3 aces, 8 kills and 13 assists with Kroll on 13 digs, Buessing 2 blocks and Fusco 11 assists. 

Bridger goes on to play Harlowtone/Ryegate Nov. 7 at 10 a.m. in the Southern C Tournament, Laurel High School.
