Bridger Fire units respond to building fire.

A fire started at 104 W. Broadway in Bridger on Sunday evening, March 31, around 11:30 p.m. Three units responded and nine firemen fought the blaze according to Assistant Fire Chief Dustin Thomas. “It took roughly an hour to extinguish,” said Thomas. No one was injured. “There was just property damage and a lot of smoke.” The building is still structurally intact.

Bridger Police Chief Mike Beuchler said, “There were five people in the building at the time.”

The source of the fire was a burning mattress on which a man had fallen asleep while visiting the premises. The tenant he was visiting had left the building at the time. Beuchler said charges are pending.
