An early dress/tech rehearsal late last week at Cassie's Steakhouse in Cody, whose back bar and dance floor have been converted to a full stage for the show's run the coming two weekends.

The Tony-nominated country music hit from the 1980's, "Pumpboys and Dinettes", will be performed at Cassie’s Supper Club, opening on Jan. 24 and running through Jan. 27, Jan. 31, and Feb. 1-3.

The Broadway hit is produced by the award-winning Spontaneous Theater Productions, under the direction of Lynne Simpson. The play will be presented at Cassie’s Supper Club, a Cody landmark, known for hosting musicians of all kinds of music. A Southern-fried catfish dinner, purchased separately, will be served on the evening of the plays between 4 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.

The musical comedy was written by five Chicago composers/performers who

also starred in the original production in 1982. The play loosely tells the story of a bunch of guys who own and run a gas station of Hwy. 57 near Smyrna , Georgia, and their gal pals across the street who own a diner featuring pie and coffee. The evening is all about having some good old fashioned southern , toe-tapping fun in the middle of the winter, celebrating our blue-collar roots.

The cast features the musical talents of Howard Thompson, formerly of the

successful band, "Cody", Brett Whitlock, Lucas Krubeck, Steve Singer, Doug Hunter, Bob Raver, Doug Morton, and Cody’s singing sisters, Abbey Krubeck and Cammy Richmond. Ed Cook of Powell, well known guitar master , is the music director for the show as well as the lead guitar.

Seating is limited to 150 per evening. Tickets may be purchased online at ShowTix4U or at the Cody Chamber of Commerce, (307) 587 - 2777. Evening curtain is at 7:30 p.m. Sunday matinees are at 3 p.m.
