Three families in January and four families in February were welcomed to Red Lodge by Linda Fisher of the Red Lodge Newcomer Service. Two chose not to be included in this article. Each one received a welcome packet, compliments of some of the local business community.  Please welcome these new families:

*Skye Freedman and Eduardo Batista recently moved here from Atlantic City, New Jersey.  They both had been chefs, and Ed worked for Wolfgang Puck.  Currently Skye has her own sewing company and will be at Market 5555 and Ed is working for an electrician.  They have a one-month daughter, Journey, and a rescue dog called Memphis.   They wanted to raise their family outside of New Jersey and bought a camper and traveled to the Kalispell area, falling in love with the mountains.  They like to camp, hike, fish, take walks with their dog, ice skate and ski.

*Donna and Donald Petersen moved here from Glendive, Montana.  Donald is retired from the railroad company.  Some of their family lives here in Red Lodge and some in Washington.  They have two cats, Starlight and Frostbite. They have one grandson and one granddaughter.  Both enjoy playing cards, camping and atving, and Donald likes to play guitar, paint watercolors and hunt.  This winter they want to try cross country skiing.

*Chanda and Brian Wahl moved here from Soldotna, Alaska. Chanda was an interior Designer and Brian was the Senior Pastor at Birch Ridge Community Church.  Chanda will continue her interior design work from home and Brian is working for HUB International Insurance.  They have four children:  Grace is a junior, Oscar is a freshman, Oliver is a 7th grader and Levi is a freshman at MSU-Bozeman.  Their rescue dog’s name is Riley.  As a family they like to travel, fish, and camp.  The boys love doing legos and the girls love art.  They lived here 15 years ago and are glad to move back.

*Brayden Vojta moved here from Sheridan, Wyoming.  He recently received his degree in geology at University of Wyoming in Laramie.  He was hired at Stillwater Mines as a grade control geologist.  Brayden enjoys downhill skiing, cross country skiing, ice fishing and hiking.

*Rensey and Jordan Webb recently moved here from Billings.  Rensey was a primary teacher in Billings and still subs there and Jordan was a detention officer.  He was hired as our new Red Lodge Police Officer.  They have a 1 ½ year old daughter, Sophia.  As a family they like to go out to dinner, go hiking and camping.  Jordan enjoys hunting and working out.  They are very happy to be in the Red Lodge Community and feel everyone has been very welcoming.  Jordan takes pride in serving the community and hopes to get more involved in helping athletes train.

Please note:  anyone new to Red Lodge who would like to receive a free Welcome Packet or if you would like to be a business sponsor may do so by contacting Linda Fisher, Red Lodge Newcomer Service at 425-2626.
