Carol Roberts, age 60, passed away on June 3, 2019, way too young in life. She passed away due to complications from asthma.

Carol was born Oct. 16, 1958 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Cathy and Royce Drew.

Carol grew up in Southern California and ended up in Montana where she graduated from Butte High. She attended college at Montana Tech and Montana State in Bozeman where she met the love of her life, Rocky. They married June 8, 1980 at the Montana State Campus Chapel and during their 40 years together they raised 2 children, Kista and Kalin.

Carol worked as a loan officer for over 35 years in the financial industry. In 2007 she and Rocky bought the Blue Ribbon Bar in Red Lodge. Throughout her career and in life, Carol focused on helping others and always strived to ensure everyone was taken care of. This includes the many children throughout the years she helped raise. Those who loved Carol would say she was always there to lend an ear or a helping hand. She was always someone’s voice of reason.

One of Carol’s favorite things to do was cook, with her passion being catering. She enjoyed weddings, large events and feasts at the Blue. Carol’s other passion was the love for her children, especially her daughter Kista’s singing, Kalin’s mother and son adventures, traveling, “off to the beach”, and most of all being grandma. Saylor and Harper were her world.

Carol is survived by her husband Rocky, daughter Kista, son Kalin, and grandchildren Saylor and Harper. She is also survived by her mother Cathy, sisters Jean Drew and Betty Helstrom, and brother RD Drew. Nieces Anita and Katie, nephews Keith and Kyle, and her special sister-in-law Robbee Fouch, and in-laws Terry and Judee Kouba. Carol also leaves behind many lifelong friends too numerous to mention. She is preceded in death by her father Royce Drew and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Services for Carol will be Friday, June 14, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the Smith-Olcott Funeral Chapel in Red Lodge where flowers and donations may also be sent. Immediately following, a celebration of life will be held at the Blue Ribbon Bar with food provided.

Carol’s soul will live on as she donated her organs to save other lives. Rest in paradise our sweet angel! We LOVE you mom!
