CCC Tucker case postponed

The criminal case against County Commissioner Douglas Tucker filed by the State of Montana has been reset for Feb. 20, 2018.
Tucker is charged with felony theft by common scheme. He pled not guilty.
In the Omnibus Status Report and Order dated Aug. 2, 2017, approved and agreed to by Vernon Woodward, Defense counsel checked that “Defense counsel states that there may be a probability of a disposition without trial.”
Yellowstone County Prosecutor, Christopher Morris, is the Special Deputy Carbon County Attorney representing the State in the case.

Earlier this year, on April 24, a criminal charge of felony theft was filed in Carbon County District Court by Morris against Tucker stating that he “purposely or knowingly obtained or exerted unauthorized control over property of the owner…”
That property, the information alleges, belongs to Carbon County. It is further alleged he took the items “knowing that he would probably deprive the owner of the property, which exceeds $1,500 in value.”
County skid loader attachments were allegedly the items used for personal use and that of others. If convicted, the crime is punishable by up to 10 years in state prison or a fine not exceeding $50,000, or both.
