Diann Fischer Larson

Thursday, November 15, 2018

On Aug. 16, Diann Fischer Larson was born in Pennsylvania. Although raised in the east she always had a desire to "Go West." After graduating from the University of New Hampshire and becoming one of the first Soil Scientists for the federal government her job took her first to the Southwest and finally to Billings, Montana.   There, Diann  created Fischer and Erwin, a property management firm, that she operated for 30 years. This gave her the opportunity to care for others; a major goal for Diann.

Red Lodge was the favorite place for Diann and husband Bill Larson to go for relaxation and enjoyment. Eventually, they purchased a home in down town Red Lodge, planning ahead for retirement. For six years they spent weekends there as Bill handled the remodeling with Diann's constant support.

When they moved to Red Lodge full time it was to immerse themselves in the community.  Diann volunteered with many non-profit organizations becoming a Certified Grant  writer to assist in obtaining funds for a number of projects. Their great joy was becoming "First Family"  when Bill was elected Mayor of Red Lodge.

Diann was a role model for her children, Graham Baynes and Amanda Glasgow in the joy of service to others. As wife, Mother and special friend she exemplified the best among us.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Carbon County Arts Guild, a special passion of Diann's.

There will be a Celebration of Life, Sunday, Dec. 2 from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. at the Elk’s Lodge, Red Lodge.
