Evelyn Rose Rolshoven

Evelyn Rose Rolshoven was born to parents Harry and Rose Kary on Aug. 17, 1931 in Dickinson North Dakota. She passed on the calm snowy eve of Christ- mas 2021 while sleeping peacefully at The Willows in Red Lodge, Montana.Surviving sons are: Curtiss Fleck (Carol), Red Lodge, Montana; Carson Fleck (Sheryl), Bismarck, North Dakota; Byron Fleck (Shar- lene), Cotton, Minnesota. Byron’s twin, Bradley, drowned at age six.Siblings preceding her in death were: Joe (Katy), Madge Schnell (Steve), Adam (Jane), Leo (Katsy) and Jerry (Phyllis).Evy was divorced from her first husband Bill Fleck, earned a teaching degree, married and divorced LeroyRolshoven, taught in a native school north of the arctic circle in Alaska, fell in love with Red Lodge, rode in a sailboat down the Mis- sissippi to New Orleans, fell in love with her best friend Wolfgang and lived her life with him in her simple cabin on Rock Creek.With a beautiful voice she loved to sing and pray. She wrote: “I feel privileged to live in a place where I can watch the mountains change their mind every day.”Wildflowers, sparkling snow, warm puppies, and books made for a good day. When she grew up she want- ed to be an old woman, wear purple and live long enough to be a burden upon her children.Her laugh was perfect.“The moving finger writes and having writ moves on..” A full life is more than a page, we love you mom.Come spring a gathering to share our love for Evelyn will be announced.
