A Project Blue Light ceremony, that honors police officers killed in the line of duty, will take place Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. during the Christmas Stroll in Red Lodge. The ceremony will take place outside the Carbon County Courthouse.

The idea behind the Project Blue Light began in 1989 when Mrs. Dolly Craig wrote to C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors) that she was putting a blue candle in her living room window that holiday season for her son-in-law, Daniel Gleason, who had been killed in the line of duty while serving with the Philadelphia (PA) Police Department on June 5, 1986. Since then Craig’s legacy has lived on having been adopted by C.O.P.S.
