Important Reminder from the Beartooth Humane Alliance

Thursday, June 28, 2018

CRASH! BOOM! BAM! The Fourth of July is almost here. We love this time of year – fireworks, parades, time with family and friends. Our pets can love it too – if we take the proper precautions. Keep a close eye on all your furry friends during gatherings at your home – human food from the grill, alcoholic drinks and even sunscreen can cause your pets harm. Keeping these and other toxic materials away from your pets can help create a safe environment for your special family member. Most importantly, remember that fireworks can be very disturbing and create unwanted anxiety. Leave your pets at home if they get anxious or nervous around large crowds and loud sounds. Instead, keep your little guys safe from the noise in a quiet, sheltered and escape-proof area at home. We see a large increase in lost and found animals during this time of year. It is essential to keep an ID tag on your pet at all times. If they happen to escape from your home, yard or campsite having your contact information with them will ensure your pets’ safe return. Please contact the Sheriff’s Office at 446-1234, Beartooth Humane Alliance at 446-3500 and your local law enforcement if you have a lost or found pet to report.
