The Joliet J-Hawk teams finished the year with identical records at 3-2 in the black.
In these final weeks of play the girls did lose some ground going out to Huntley Project 52-36 but the boys came through with two big wins, thrashing the Red Devils 78-67 and narrowly pipping Columbus 70-67.
Columbus also didn’t fare well against the Lady J-Hawks losing 39-25.
The boys victory over Huntley was impressive from the start with the J-Hawks dominating the opening half 45-33. The Project came back in the second half but the damage had been done. Taylor Rowlison scored 23 points with Rylan Olson on 22, Brett Robinson on 20, and Terik Fike 12.
It was a close call against local rivals Columbus with both teams matching each other until the last frame when Joliet pulled away winning 19-13. Rowlison again dominated the scorecard dunking 26, with Robinson on 17 and Olson on 18.
The girls’ defeat to Huntley saw Vanessa Nowak net 14 points to Tayler Wright’s 8 and Skyler Wright’s 4.
Better times were had against Columbus with the Lady J-Hawks thrashing their rivals in the second half after a slow start.
Merrin Schwend led in points with 12, Tayler Wright had 11, Vanessa Nowak got 7.
