On Saturday, Oct. 8, Joliet J-Hawks Varsity Football played the Shelby Red Devils in a non-Conference game at home.  The J-Hawks rolled to a comfortable 50-12 win. Coach George Warburton said, “Shelby came out ready to play but we kept our composure and never quit.”First Quarter: The Red Devils burning out making the first touchdown. But the J-Hawks attacked right back and then some: Joliet 15, Shelby 6; Second Quarter: Joliet 15, Shelby 6, Third Quarter: The J-Hawks took flight unchallenged: 20, Shelby 0. Fourth Quarter: Joliet 0, Shelby 0. Final Score: 50-12. Joliet establishes dominance on Senior Night.Warburton gave the stats. On Offense, Ty cook was 7-11 for 99 yards. Receiving, Paxton McQuillan caught 3 balls for 38 yards. Kaden Juhnke caught 2 balls for 55 yards. In Rushing, Tucker Lind carried the ball 15 times for 200 yards with 2 touchdowns (69 yards and 56 yards). Ty Cook rushed 1 time for 15 yards with 1 touchdown (15 yards). Kick Return: Paxton had one 74 yard kick return for a touchdown to start the second half.On Defense:  Jace Schaible led the team with 9 solo tackles and assisted on 7. Tucker Lind had 11 solo tackles and assisted on 3. Freshman Jake Cook played some valuable minutes and had 10 solo tackles and assisted on 2. Paxton McQuilland had 2 solo tackles and assisted on 3 and one Interception. Kaden Juhnke had 2 solo tackles and assisted on 2 and 1 pick six for 20 yards.Warburton reflected, “Shelby came out ready to play but we kept our composure and never quit. It was a confidence boosting home win for us on Senior night and we hope to keep the momentum going vs.Park City this Friday at Park City!”
