Joliet’s Emily Megan competes at the Red Lodge Cross Country Invite on Saturday.

Joliet XC runners had a great race on Saturday.  It was a fun day with perfect weather and an awesome course.  Katelyn Bancroft did a wonderful job representing the middle school girls with a time of 15:49.  Bryce Williams came in first for middle school boys with a time of 10:44; Ceston Dimond had a good race with a time of 12:47; and Keith Frank ran his personal best with a time of 14:07.  All of the high school girls competed in Varsity this Saturday and they rose to the occasion.  Jalyn Songstad placed 8th overall with a time of 24:47; Megan Deines ran really well with a time of 27:32; Peyton Whitehead did a wonderful job competing in her second Varsity race as a Freshman with a time of 27:47; Emily Deines had to work hard on Saturday due to sickness but she definitely overcame and performed well with a time of 34:03; and Annalea Seymour did an amazing job in her first Varsity race with a time of 35:12.

All of the high school boys competed in Varsity as well this Saturday and I am very proud of all of their efforts.  Jakob May placed first overall with a time of 19:07; Bryant Dimond met his goal with a time of 21:37; Riven Fike barely missed his goal with a time of 23:22; Riley Simons pushed himself very hard in his first Varsity meet of the season and finished with a time of 28:20; Caleb Miller rose to the occasion at his first Varsity meet and finished with a time of 28:29; and Rockwood Frank finished for the team with his first Varsity race of the season as a Freshman with a time of 29:27.  The Red Lodge meet is always a wonderful challenge for the runners and I am incredibly proud of each of them for the effort they put forth and what they were able to accomplish as a team and as individuals.  We are looking forward to Colstrip on Friday!
